TicoByte for July, 2013

Dear PC Club members,

Get ready for the PC Club meeting this month on Saturday, July 20th, at the Pan American School in Belen at 9 AM.  Come early, at 8:30, to chat, drink coffee, have a snack, or to just sit and admire the day.  Bring computer related stuff that you would like to share with us.

  1. In addition to his regular Treasurer's Report this month, Ken's going to revisit bank account security.

  2. Chuck wants to know what technical areas are interesting to members.

  3. I'll give a short demo of the Web News page on the club website and the news for this month. Did you see the really funny Spock commercial and the great astronaut bit by Chris Hadfield last month?. Also, I'll be bringing a copy of Windows Blue for any brave soul running Windows 8 who wants to try out 8.1.

  4. Steve would like to know if anyone is interested in how to make a PowerPoint presentation.

  5. Tio will introduce CapTel, a new captioning service for phone calls that's available for free.

  6. Mac has some information about the NASA Worldwind mapping software. He says it's better than Google Earth.

I'll see you at the meeting,

Dick Sandlin
