TicoByte for August, 2013

Hello, PC Club members!

This is your invitation to the PC Club meeting this month on Saturday, August 17th, at the Pan American School in Belen at 9 AM.  Come early, at 8:30, to drink coffee, chat, and have a snack.  Bring anything computer-related that you would like to share or get help with.

  1. In addition to his regular Treasurer's Report this month, Ken's going to tell about his dramatic brush with bank account security.

  2. Chuck has taken your suggestions to heart and scheduled talks over the next few months to address topics such as: How to use a VPN, DuoLingo, Google Slides (Powerpoint), TV on the Internet, and Backups vs. Archives.

  3. Annette will present how to use DuoLingo to learn another language.

  4. I'll give a presentation on How (and why) to set up and use a VPN with slides and paper handouts.

  5. Tio will talk about Bit Torrent - the risks and legitimate uses.

  6. Mac will talk about Feedly, which is a good replacement for the RSS feed we used to get from Google.

I'll see you at the meeting,

Dick Sandlin
