Tico Byte for January, 2016

Hello, PC Club members,

The 3rd Saturday is coming up again this weekend. The PC Club meeting will be on January 16th this month, at the Pan American School in Belen  starting at 9 AM. Coffee, snacks, and conversation will be available, as always, at 8:30.  Bring anything computer-related that you have questions about or would like to share with the group.

  1. Chuck will open the meeting and preside over club business.
    1. Ken will welcome guests and new members.

    2. Ken's Treasurer's report:  $1849.73 in the treasury with 32 paid members so far for 2016. 14 not yet paid. Members can log in and view the details under “Club Business - Financials” on the club website.

    3. Ken will announce continuation of the 2016 membership drive ($30 or ₡16,200).

    4. Ken will be accepting purchases of Lenny's book, Dining in Costa Rica's Central Valley, for ₡2,500 each. (We have 3 left.)

    5. Chuck will ask if there is any new club business.

    1. Ken will describe the Fing cellphone app.

    2. Chuck will talk about Internet trackers, aggregators, beacons, and cookies.

    3. Dick will describe how to configure Windows 10 for optimal privacy.

    4. Helen will present her opinions about the ASUS 7" tablet.

  5. Future topics: Helen will ask for future topics and presenters from members. Tell us what you want to know about.
