Tico Byte for May, 2017

Hello, PC Club members,

The 3rd Saturday is coming up again this weekend. The PC Club meeting will be on May 20th this month, at the Pan American School in Belen  starting at 9 AM. Coffee, snacks, and conversation will be available, as always, at 8:30.  Bring anything computer-related that you have questions about or would like to share with the group.

  1. Dick will open the meeting and preside over club business.

  2. Ken will welcome guests and new members.

  3. Ken's Treasurer's report:  $2074 in the treasury with 33 paid members. Members can log in and view the details under “Club Business - Financials” on the club website.

  4. RIP Mary White.

  5. Dick will moderate the microphone going around the room to hear your news and questions.

  6. Break (20 min) [Play Movie]
  7. Topics of interest

    1. Dick will talk a little about Net Neutrality, as requested by Gillian. (Check ISPs)

    2. Tio will introduce new Requirements for Naturalization. See also New rules for becoming a CR citizen for 65+ years of age (from Casa Canada).

    3. Dick will talk more about getting the most out of our monthly Web News. And he will explain what's new in the way Web News are reported.

    4. Members are invited to pick particular Web News topics to explore.

  8. Potential Topics

    1. Bill V would like to report on a topic about smartphones. (When he gets back in October.)

    2. Dick might explain how to put a web-link in an email msg.

    3. Helen will ask for more potential topics and presenters: Tell us what you want to hear about.

  9. Instead of recent highlights in the Web News (added all during the last month), you can now see all the links getting added to the monthly Web News throughout this month.  For the rest of this month, links will continue to be added to this month's page.  Then a new (blank) Web News page for June will be available on June 1st and links will be added to it (where you can see them) all during the month of June.  Hopefully, you will see this as a resource that you can use many times during the month to see what's happening in the world of computers.

'See you at the meeting,

Dick Sandlin
